The Intercom integration connects your Intercom workspace to Chatarmin CX so you can copy your Intercom help center (help centers, collections, and articles) into the Chatarmin CX Help Center. Your team keeps one place to edit and publish self-service content after moving off Intercom.
Every workspace can connect Intercom. The help center import itself is currently limited to selected pilot workspaces. If you don’t see the Intercom Help Center Migration card after connecting, contact Chatarmin CX support. Intercom conversations, macros, and contacts are not imported.

When to use it

  • You are moving from Intercom to Chatarmin CX and want your help center articles without copying them by hand.
  • You run several Intercom workspaces or help centers and want all of them in Chatarmin CX.
  • You want to keep article structure, translations, and draft or published state instead of rebuilding them.

Before you start

  • You need access to Settings → Integrations in Chatarmin CX. Admins always have it; for other roles, see Roles and permissions.
  • You need an Intercom login that can authorize apps for the workspace you want to connect.
  • The import only reads from Intercom. Nothing in your Intercom workspace changes.

Connect Intercom

1

Open the Intercom integration

Go to Settings → Integrations and choose Intercom, or open integrations.
2

Start the connection

Click Connect. In the Add Intercom Integration dialog, click Connect Intercom. Intercom opens in a new tab.
3

Authorize in Intercom

Sign in to Intercom if prompted, pick the workspace, and authorize the Chatarmin app. You return to the Intercom integration page in Chatarmin CX.
4

Confirm the connection

Under Connected accounts, the account appears with your Intercom workspace name and a Connected status.
To connect another Intercom workspace, click + next to Connected accounts and repeat the steps.

Import your help center

When the import is enabled for your workspace, the Intercom integration page shows the Intercom Help Center Migration card below your connected accounts.
1

Pick the source workspace

If you connected more than one Intercom workspace, choose it under Source Intercom Workspace.
2

Start the import

Click Start Migration. Chatarmin CX fetches every help center in that workspace, then its collections, then its articles. The card shows the current phase and a progress bar.
3

Pause or cancel if needed

Use Pause and Resume to hold the import, or Cancel to stop it. Content imported before you cancel stays in Chatarmin CX.
4

Review the result

When the status shows Completed, click View Help Center, or open Help Center, and review the imported content.
The import always covers all help centers in the selected workspace. There is no option to import a single collection or a test subset, so review the result in Chatarmin CX before you share the help center address or move your domain.

What gets imported

Articles that don’t belong to any collection in Intercom are skipped.

Run the import again

After an import finishes, Refetch Migration runs it again. Items are matched by their Intercom ID, so nothing is duplicated:
  • New help centers, collections, and articles are added.
  • Existing ones are overwritten with the current Intercom version, including title, content, published state, and the help center name and address.
  • Articles you deleted in Intercom are not removed from Chatarmin CX.
Running the import again overwrites edits you made in Chatarmin CX to imported articles and help centers. Finish your edits in Intercom first, import, and then edit only in Chatarmin CX.
The import never runs on a schedule. Content changes in Intercom only reach Chatarmin CX when someone starts the import again.

Disconnect Intercom

1

Open the account menu

On the Intercom integration page, click Connected next to the account.
2

Disconnect

Choose Disconnect, then confirm with Delete in the Delete integration? dialog.
Help centers and articles you already imported stay in Chatarmin CX. Disconnecting removes the connection in Chatarmin CX only, so also remove the Chatarmin app from your Intercom workspace if you want to revoke its access there.

Troubleshooting

I don’t see the import card

The Intercom Help Center Migration card only appears for pilot workspaces. Contact Chatarmin CX support with your workspace name.

The import fails with “Unauthorized Access.” or “Forbidden”

The connection no longer has access to the Intercom workspace, for example because the app was removed in Intercom. Disconnect the account, connect it again, and start the import.

An article is missing

Check that the article belongs to a collection in Intercom. Articles without a collection are skipped. Add it to a collection in Intercom, then run Refetch Migration.

Starting fails because another import is active

Only one Intercom help center import runs per Chatarmin CX workspace at a time. Reload the page: the card picks up the running import so you can follow, pause, or cancel it. If the import keeps failing, contact Chatarmin CX support and include the Intercom workspace name and the time of the failed run.
