EverSubs subscriptions appear in the customer panel on a ticket. They do not create separate tickets or notifications.
When to use it
Use EverSubs when you sell subscription products through Shopify and your support team regularly handles:- “When is my next box?” and “What is in my next delivery?”
- “Why did my payment fail?”
- Skipping or moving the next delivery
- Changing how many of a product the customer receives
- Pausing or cancelling a subscription
Set up EverSubs
You need:- The Manage integrations permission in Chatarmin CX. Admins have it by default. See Roles and permissions.
- The Merchant API key of the EverSubs store whose subscriptions you want to connect. EverSubs describes the API in its API reference.
1
Open integrations
Open integrations in your workspace settings and choose EverSubs. If EverSubs is not listed, contact your Chatarmin CX account team to check availability for your workspace.
2
Connect the store
Click Connect, paste the key into API Key, and click Connect to save. Chatarmin CX tests the key with EverSubs first. If the test fails, nothing is saved and you see the reason. A successful connection shows Connected.
3
Run a read-only test
Open a ticket from a customer you know has an EverSubs subscription. If their subscriptions appear in the customer panel, the connection works. Do not use Actions as a test, because every action changes the real subscription.
4
Connect more stores (optional)
Repeat the steps for each store you support. Each connection only sees its own subscriptions.
5
Enable the actions on an agent (optional)
Open AI Agents, choose your agent, and enable the EverSubs actions you want in its actions. Select the connected store the agent may use.
Update or disconnect
- Replace the key: open the connection on the EverSubs settings page, paste the new key into API Key, and click Connect.
- Disconnect: open the Connected menu on the connection, choose Disconnect, then confirm Delete. This cannot be undone. Remove the connection from every AI Agent action that uses it, and revoke the key in EverSubs if you no longer need it.
Use EverSubs in the inbox
- Open a ticket with a contact that has an email address.
- In the customer panel, find the EverSubs section when the contact has one or more subscriptions.
- Each subscription shows its products, status, next charge date, next delivery date and how often it renews. Open the details to see the payment method and any discounts. A Last payment failed label appears when the latest payment did not go through.
How subscriptions are matched
Subscriptions are matched by the contact’s main email address against the customer email in EverSubs. The panel shows the customer’s first 50 subscriptions, active ones first.Change a subscription yourself
Open Actions on a subscription to change it without an AI Agent. A confirmation window opens first. After EverSubs accepts the change, you see its confirmation, including the real date, and the subscription refreshes.
Subscriptions that are cancelled, expired, failed or stale cannot be changed. A paused subscription can only be cancelled here. To resume it, open it in EverSubs.
Good to know before you use it:
- Anyone who can open the ticket can use Actions. There is no separate permission for these buttons, so decide who works on subscription tickets.
- Only one change runs at a time. Actions and the pencils are disabled until the current change finishes.
- Before each change, Chatarmin CX looks the subscription up again and checks that it belongs to the ticket contact’s email. Any other subscription is refused.
- Each change is saved in EverSubs as made by your email address.
- If EverSubs refuses a change, you see EverSubs’ own message and nothing has changed. Each action is a single change, so there is no half-finished state.
Dates in EverSubs
The next order date is the day the customer is charged. If your store has delivery-date settings and the chosen day cannot be delivered, EverSubs moves the date forward to the next possible day. The confirmation shows the date EverSubs saved, not the one you asked for.Undo a change
Chatarmin CX has no undo button. Use a new change instead:What you cannot do from Chatarmin CX
Neither the inbox buttons nor the AI Agent actions can:- Resume a paused or cancelled subscription
- Change the delivery address
- Add or remove products, or switch a product variant
- Add or change discounts
- Charge a subscription right away
AI Agent actions
Read actions
Read actions never change anything and need no approval.Changes the agent can propose
All five changes need human approval by default. The agent proposes the change, a person approves it, and only then does it happen in EverSubs. Each change is saved in EverSubs as made by the armin.cx AI agent.
Safety checks for agents
- The agent can only change subscriptions on a ticket, and only one whose customer email is one of the ticket contact’s emails. Any other subscription is treated as not found.
- Only active and paused subscriptions can be changed. All others are handed to a colleague.
- In a test run the agent only says what it would have done. Nothing changes in EverSubs.
Best practices
- Keep approval on for all five agent changes until you trust the agent’s playbook.
- Keep the contact email the same as the one the customer used to subscribe.
- Test agents with a test run first and read the “Would have…” message before going live.
- Pause instead of cancel when the customer only needs a break.
Troubleshooting
The connection test fails
- If you see “Invalid EverSubs API key, or the key cannot read subscriptions”, check that the key belongs to the right store, has not been replaced in EverSubs, and is allowed to read subscriptions.
- Paste the current key again and save.
No subscriptions for a customer
- Check that the contact’s main email matches the customer email in EverSubs.
- Check that the subscription belongs to a store connected in this workspace.
Actions is missing or disabled
- Actions only appears on active and paused subscriptions.
- While another change is running, Actions and the pencils are disabled. Wait a moment.
A change is refused
- “No EverSubs subscription found” means the subscription does not belong to the ticket contact or no longer exists. Reload the ticket.
- “This subscription is cancelled” and similar messages mean the subscription can no longer be changed here.
- A new date must be after today.
- A message starting with “EverSubs” comes from EverSubs itself. Read it for the reason.
