# AI disclosure (EU AI Act)

> Add a short AI notice to automated replies so customers know they are talking to AI.

Show customers when a **fully automated** AI reply is from AI — clearly and without cluttering every chat.

Go to **Settings** → **AI disclosure (EU AI Act)**, or [open AI disclosure](https://armin.cx/app/_/settings/ai-disclosure).

## Recommendation

Turn the notice on for the channels where AI answers customers **without human review**:

* **Email & forms** — every automated AI reply (email, contact forms, Amazon Seller)
* **WhatsApp, socials, and reviews** — at most once per contact every 24 hours (keeps chats readable)
* **Widget** — no extra footer text; the AI sender label already marks the reply

The notice is **not** added to AI suggestions, drafts waiting for approval, or replies a human approves and sends. Human-written agent messages are unchanged.

Start simple: pick a short preset per channel, save, and check the live preview.

## What customers see

| Channel | How the notice appears |
| -------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Email & forms | Muted line before the signature |
| WhatsApp | Italic line under the reply (or Meta footer when interactive buttons are used) |
| Instagram, Facebook, TikTok | Same plain text as the rest of the reply |
| Reviews (Reviews.io, eTrusted, Google) | Same plain text as the rest of the reply |
| Widget | AI sender label only (e.g. “AI Agent”) |

Only **fully automated AI replies** get the notice.

## Why it matters

Many regions expect customers to know when they are interacting with AI. A short, clear notice builds trust and keeps your automation transparent — without dumping legal wording into every message.

<Tip>
  Keep the text short and plain. Customers should understand it in one glance.

## FAQ

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Does this change human replies or approved drafts?">
    No. Only fully automated AI sends include the notice. Suggestions, approval-gated replies, and messages written by a human agent do not.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What does “Once per 24h” mean?">
    For that contact on that channel type (for example WhatsApp), the notice is added at most once every 24 hours. Email & forms can still show it on every automated reply if you set that group to every reply.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Why is Widget different?">
    The widget already shows who sent the message (for example “AI Agent”), so we do not append an extra footer there.
