# Memberr

> Check store credit and membership tiers in the inbox, and adjust credit with AI Agents.

The Memberr integration connects [Memberr](https://www.memberr.de), a store credit, loyalty and membership platform, to Chatarmin CX. When a ticket contact's email matches a customer in a connected Memberr shop, the customer panel shows their store credit balance, credit history, and membership tier, and lets agents add or reduce store credit without leaving the ticket.

<Note>
  Memberr data appears in the **customer panel** on a ticket. Memberr does not create tickets or notifications in Chatarmin CX.
</Note>

## When to use it

Use Memberr when your shop runs a loyalty or membership program on Memberr and your support team regularly handles:

* "how much credit do I have?" and "where did my credit go?" questions
* credit that expires soon, or a balance that looks lower than expected
* "what tier am I in?" and "how much more do I need to spend for the next tier?"
* goodwill credit or compensation for a late or damaged order
* correcting a credit that was booked twice

## Set up Memberr

You need a **Secret API Key** and a **Shop System** value from your Memberr account for each Memberr shop you want to connect. Memberr is built for Shopify stores, so Shop System is `shopify` unless your Memberr contact tells you otherwise.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open integrations">
    [Open integrations](https://armin.cx/app/_/settings/integrations) from your workspace settings and choose **Memberr**.

    If Memberr is not listed, contact your Chatarmin CX account team to enable it for your workspace.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter your credentials">
    Click **Connect** and fill in the form:

    | Field | What to enter |
    | - | - |
    | **Secret API Key** | The Secret API Key from your Memberr account. |
    | **Shop System** | The shop system Memberr scopes this shop to. Enter `shopify` unless Memberr told you otherwise. |
    | **Ticket origin domain (optional)** | The exact storefront domain where your chat widget runs, for example `shop.example.com`. Only needed when you connect more than one Memberr shop. |

    Click **Connect** to save. You see **Integration connected successfully** and the shop is listed on the Memberr integration page.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Run a safe test">
    Chatarmin CX does not test the key when you save it. Open a ticket from a customer you know exists in Memberr and check that the Memberr card shows their balance. This only reads data, so it is safe to try on a real customer.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect additional shops (optional)">
    Repeat **Connect** for each Memberr shop your team supports. Set a **Ticket origin domain** on each shop that has a chat widget, so Chatarmin CX can route widget tickets to the right shop automatically.
  </Step>
</Steps>

To change a connection later, click the connected shop in [integrations](https://armin.cx/app/_/settings/integrations). Leave **Secret API Key** blank to keep the current key.

<Warning>
  Chatarmin CX doesn't ask for a connection name, so every Memberr shop is labelled **Integration** in settings, and **Memberr** in the inbox's shop picker — with several shops connected, they look identical. Keep a note of which Shop System or Ticket origin domain belongs to which real shop, and set a **Ticket origin domain** on every shop with a chat widget so Chatarmin CX can tell widget tickets apart automatically.
</Warning>

### How the ticket origin domain works

With one Memberr shop, every ticket uses that shop. With several shops, Chatarmin CX needs to know which shop a ticket belongs to:

* For **chat widget tickets**, Chatarmin CX compares the website the customer wrote from with each shop's **Ticket origin domain**. If exactly one shop matches, the card opens that shop automatically.
* For every other ticket, including email, or when no domain matches, the agent picks the shop on the card.

## Use Memberr in the inbox

When Memberr is connected and the ticket contact has an email address, Chatarmin CX looks up that email in the connected Memberr shops. The **Memberr** card appears in the customer panel only when the customer exists in at least one shop.

1. Open a ticket with a contact that has an email address.
2. In the **customer panel**, expand the **Memberr** card.
3. If you connected several shops and the card cannot pick one, use **Select Memberr shop** to choose the shop.

The card shows:

| Section | What you see |
| - | - |
| **Store credit** | The current balance and currency. If credit is still pending, a line such as "+€5.00 unlocks soon" shows the upcoming amount. |
| **Store credit history** | Opens every credit and debit with its source (for example **Order**, **Cashback**, **Referral**, or **Manual adjustment**), the date, the amount, and when the next credit expires. Debits from the same order are grouped into one row. |
| **Membership** | The active tier, whether it is **Active** or **Inactive**, and when it expires. |
| **Next tier** | Progress toward the next tier: revenue so far, revenue still needed, and the days left to qualify. |
| **Birthday** | The customer's birthday, when Memberr has one. |
| **Customer is blocked** | A banner when the customer is blocked in Memberr. |
| **View in Memberr** | Opens the customer's profile in the Memberr dashboard. |

### Matching customers to contacts

Customers are matched by the contact's **email address** against the customer email in Memberr. The match must be exact (upper and lower case are ignored).

| Situation | What you see |
| - | - |
| Memberr not connected | No Memberr card |
| Contact has no email | No Memberr card. Add an email to the contact. |
| Email present, no customer in any Memberr shop | No Memberr card |
| You switch to a shop where the customer does not exist | **No Memberr profile found for this customer** |
| Memberr lookup fails | The card moves to the row for apps that failed to load. Expand it and click **Retry**. |

## Adjust store credit in the inbox

Use **Add** or **Reduce** under the store credit balance.

1. Click **Add** or **Reduce**.
2. Enter the amount. The dialog shows the **Current balance** and the **New balance** after the change.
3. Confirm with **Add €…** or **Reduce €…**.

The change is booked in Memberr as a manual store credit entry and appears as **Manual adjustment** in the history. Memberr can take a few seconds to show the new balance, so the buttons stay disabled until the balance updates.

<Warning>
  Store credit changes the customer's real balance in Memberr. Added credit can be spent in your shop right away. There is no undo button: to correct a mistake, make the opposite adjustment (**Reduce** after a wrong **Add**, or **Add** after a wrong **Reduce**). Both entries stay in the history.
</Warning>

Good to know:

* The amount must be at least 0.01. There is no upper limit in Chatarmin CX.
* The dialog has no field for a reason or note. Record why you changed the balance in an internal note on the ticket.
* Chatarmin CX does not stop a reduction that is larger than the current balance. Check the **New balance** before you confirm.
* The credit uses the currency of the customer's existing balance, or EUR when the customer has none.
* Chatarmin CX always finds the Memberr customer from the email of the ticket's contact, so you can only change credit for that customer.

## AI Agent actions

Give an [AI Agent](/ai-agents/skills-and-actions) Memberr actions when you want automation to answer store credit and tier questions, or to grant credit on tickets such as late deliveries.

Connect Memberr first, then enable the actions on the agent and choose which connected shops the agent may use under **Memberr integrations**.

### Read action

* **Get loyalty profile** — Looks up a customer by email and returns their current and upcoming store credit balance, active membership and expiry, progress toward the next tier, whether they are blocked, a link to their Memberr profile, and their store credit history with the next expiry date. This action never needs approval.

### Write action

* **Adjust store credit** — Adds store credit to a customer, or deducts it. The agent must give a reason, which the person reviewing the approval sees. The reason is not sent to Memberr.

| Setting | Default | What it does |
| - | - | - |
| Approval | **Ask every time** | A person approves each adjustment before it runs. See [human approval](/ai-agents/human-in-the-loop). |
| **Allow deducting store credit** | Off | When off, the agent can only add credit. Turn it on only if the agent should also correct balances downward. |

In test runs, **Adjust store credit** is simulated and does not change any balance in Memberr.

<Warning>
  **Adjust store credit** moves real money. Keep approval on until you trust the agent's playbook, and tell it in its instructions how much credit it may offer for which situations. The action itself has no amount limit.
</Warning>

<Tip>
  In agent instructions, tell the agent to call **Get loyalty profile** with the ticket contact's email before proposing any adjustment, and to state the currency whenever it quotes a balance.
</Tip>

## Best practices

* Keep the contact email aligned with the email the customer uses in your shop. Update the contact if they wrote from a different address.
* Set a **Ticket origin domain** on every shop with a chat widget, so the right shop opens automatically instead of relying on an agent to pick it.
* Approve AI adjustments only after checking that the email in the proposal belongs to the customer on the ticket.
* Leave **Allow deducting store credit** off unless the agent needs to fix double credits.
* Write a short internal note on the ticket whenever you change a balance by hand, so teammates know why.

## Disconnect Memberr

In [integrations](https://armin.cx/app/_/settings/integrations), open the shop's **Connected** menu, choose **Disconnect**, and confirm **Delete**. The Memberr card disappears from tickets and AI Agent Memberr actions that use this shop stop working. Balances and history in Memberr are not changed.

## Troubleshooting

### The Memberr card does not appear

* Check that the contact has an email address and that it matches the customer email in Memberr.
* Confirm the customer exists in a Memberr shop you connected in this workspace.
* With several shops and a widget ticket, check that the shop's **Ticket origin domain** matches the storefront domain exactly, without `https://` or a path.

### The card says "Failed to load"

* Check that the **Secret API Key** is correct and still active in Memberr. Chatarmin CX does not test the key on save, so a wrong key first shows up here.
* Paste a new key into the connection in [integrations](https://armin.cx/app/_/settings/integrations), then click **Retry** on the card.

### A store credit adjustment fails

* **No Memberr customer found for this contact**: the contact's email no longer matches a Memberr customer. Check the email in Memberr and on the contact.
* **Memberr store-credit adjustment failed: …**: Memberr rejected the request. The rest of the message comes from Memberr. Check the balance in Memberr before you try again, so you don't book the same credit twice.

### The balance did not change after an adjustment

Memberr can take several seconds to update. Wait for the buttons to become active again, then check **Store credit history** for the **Manual adjustment** entry before adjusting again.

If a problem continues, contact Chatarmin CX support with the ticket number and the time of the failed action. Do not send the Secret API Key.
