# Carano

> See a driver's vehicle, leasing, and contract details next to the ticket.

The Carano integration connects your [Carano](https://www.carano.de) fleet management account to Chatarmin CX. When a driver writes in, your team sees their vehicle, leasing, and contract details in the ticket instead of looking them up in Carano.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Carano shows up in the **customer panel** on a ticket. The integration only reads data. It never changes anything in Carano, creates tickets, or sends notifications.

## When to use it

Use Carano when you manage a company car fleet in Carano and your team often answers questions such as:

* "Which car is assigned to me?" and "What is my license plate?"
* "When does my leasing contract end?" and "What is my leasing rate?"
* "How many kilometers am I allowed to drive per year?"
* "When will my new car arrive?"

## Set it up

You need the **API Base URL**, **Username**, and **Password** of your Carano API access. Carano provides these for your company. If you don't have them, ask your Carano contact.

**1. Open integrations**

[Open integrations](https://armin.cx/app/_/settings/integrations) from your workspace settings and choose **Carano**.

If Carano is not listed, contact your Chatarmin CX account team to enable it for your workspace.

**2. Enter your Carano access**

Click **Connect** and fill in the form:

| Field | What to enter |
| - | - |
| **API Base URL** | The web address of your Carano API. A trailing `/` is removed automatically. |
| **Username** | The username Carano gave you for API access. |
| **Password** | The password for that username. |

Click **Connect** to save. Chatarmin CX signs in to Carano with these details first. If Carano rejects them, you see the reason and nothing is saved.

**3. Run a safe test**

Open a ticket from a driver whose email address is stored in Carano. Expand the **Carano** card in the customer panel and check that the driver and vehicle are the right ones. This only reads data, so it is safe to try on a real driver.

## Use Carano in the inbox

Chatarmin CX finds the driver in Carano by the **email address** of the ticket contact. The **Carano** card appears in the customer panel when Carano has a driver with that email.

The card has these sections. A row only shows when Carano has a value for it.

| Section | What you see |
| - | - |
| **Driver** | Name, whether the driver is **Active** or **Inactive**, personnel number, mobile number, and when the record was last updated. |
| **Vehicle** | License plate, make and model, VIN, fuel type, mileage, and the vehicle status. Shows **In fleet since** once the car is in the fleet, and **Expected delivery** while it is still on its way. |
| **Contract** | Contract number and type, contract status, leasing company, leasing rate, yearly mileage, and the contract period. |

The leasing rate is shown in euros and appears once, in the **Contract** section.

The Vehicle and Contract sections appear when the driver has a vehicle assigned in Carano.

### When the card shows something else

| Situation | What you see |
| - | - |
| Carano not connected | No Carano card |
| Contact has no email address | No Carano card. Add an email to the contact. |
| No driver in Carano with this email | No Carano card |
| Driver has no vehicle in Carano | The **Driver** section only |
| Carano can't be reached | The card moves to the row for apps that failed to load. Expand it and click **Retry**. |

> [!NOTE]
>
> The match is by email only. If a driver writes from a private address that is not stored in Carano, the card does not appear. Update the contact's email, or add that address to the driver in Carano.

## Data and access

For each ticket you open, Chatarmin CX sends Carano the contact's email address and the Carano ids it gets back to look up the driver, vehicle, and contract. Nothing is written to Carano.

Your password is stored encrypted. Chatarmin CX keeps the sign-in token Carano returns, also encrypted, so it does not have to sign in again for every ticket.

AI Agents have no Carano actions. Carano data is for your team in the inbox.

## Change or disconnect Carano

To change a connection, click it in [integrations](https://armin.cx/app/_/settings/integrations). Leave **Password** blank to keep the current one. Chatarmin CX checks the details with Carano again before saving.

To disconnect, open the connection's **Connected** menu, choose **Disconnect**, and confirm **Delete**. The Carano card disappears from tickets. Your Carano data and account are not changed.

## Troubleshooting

### The connection won't save

* Check the **API Base URL** for typos. It must be a full web address starting with `https://`.
* Check that the **Username** and **Password** are copied in full, without spaces.
* Confirm with Carano that the API access is active.

### The card does not appear

* Check that the contact has an email address and that Carano has a driver with exactly that email.
* Check that the connection is still saved in [integrations](https://armin.cx/app/_/settings/integrations).

### The card says "Failed to load"

* Click **Retry** on the card.
* If it keeps failing, the password may have changed in Carano. Open the connection, enter the new password, and save.

### The Vehicle or Contract section is missing

* Carano shows these only when a vehicle is assigned to the driver. Check the assignment in Carano.
* Individual rows are hidden when Carano has no value for them. Check the record in Carano.

If none of this helps, contact Chatarmin CX support. Include the ticket link and the time you opened it, but not your password.
